Short answer
September 2026 brought new model generations from Anthropic (Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5, verified), OpenAI (GPT-6, reported) and Google (Gemini 3.8, reported), and the reported end of the Sora API. In October we refreshed aixjo: removed unsourced ratings, updated prices we could confirm and added new comparison, alternatives and data pages.
October 2026: aixjo refresh
- New: Claude Code vs Cursor vs Codex, best AI coding assistants, best free AI tools, best open-weight LLMs, AI subscription prices.
- New: alternatives to Tome, Sora, Cursor, GitHub Copilot and Sourcegraph Cody; the shutdown tracker.
- New tool pages: Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Sora (status page), DeepSeek, Qwen, Kimi, gpt-oss.
- New: best AI podcast generators; AI Audio & Podcast Tools expanded with Wondercraft, Jellypod, NotebookLM and Podcastle and a buyer's guide.
- Added Sintra Studio (public beta) to AI Voice Generators and AI Audio & Podcast Tools.
- Bylines: every page is now edited by Robert Levandovsky, Editor. Pages he has approved show 'Edited by' with the review date. Our AI-use statement moved to the editorial policy and is linked from every byline. See the editorial team.
